Montanaro Asset Management wins “ESG Company of the Year” FT / IC Award
We are delighted to announce that Montanaro Asset Management (“MAM”) has won ‘ESG Company of the Year’ at the Investors’ Chronicle & Financial Times 2023 Investment Awards.
Our Biodiversity Deep Dive report, written by MAM’s Investment Team, was also “Highly Commended” at the recent annual Pensions for Purpose awards ceremony.
These awards recognise the commitment we have shown towards our Environmental, Social and Governance (“ESG”) responsibilities. Not only are ESG considerations fully integrated into MAM’s investment process, but we also reflect the standards we expect of our investee companies within our own business.
Earlier this year, we announced that by 2030 MAM would seek to become carbon negative and remove from the environment all the carbon we have emitted since our founding in 1991. We believe we are the first UK asset manager to commit to such ambitious targets.
In an environment where some have questioned the purpose of ESG, we continue to believe that it plays a crucial part in investing for a sustainable future. We are delighted that our commitment has been recognised.
